According to the 2017 National Retail Security Survey, the industry average inventory shrink rate has increased to 1.44 % (up from 1.38% in 2016). If you have a net profit of 10% losing 1% to 1.5% is painful. Retail Loss Overview: Shoplifting/external (including ORC) = 36.5% Employee theft/internal = 30% Administrative and paperwork error = 21.3% Vendor fraud or error = 5.4% Unknown loss = 6.8% In the meantime reach out to us if you are experiencing loss and would like to take steps to reduce it.
